Checking The Traps, Rockport, Maine
It was a gorgeous morning for a walk in Harkness Preserve in Rockport, Maine this past October. Following the warm glow thru the trees, I emerged from the woods onto the rocky edge for this quiet moment; one boat in motion, rippling the calm.
This painting was complicated. I don't "do boats" and that swirly water was new-to-me, but I took a deep breath and put one color down next to another... and this occurred. A friend who fishes said I got the boat right and he knows exactly what's going on by the flow of the water. I'm pleased and humbled and proud and a little bit giddy, all at the same time.
This one is SOLD but I'll be exploring more in this vein for sure.
15 x 22" in 24 x 31" frame;
SOLD
